Welcome to our page on our surprisingly expansive first-year garden. We enjoy caring for our plant babies and hope you will cheer them on as they grow into big, healthy, mature plants.

THE BEGINNING

JANUARY 30, 2023

For Jeromey’s birthday, we got him two seed starter kits and some tomato, cucumber, carrot, and herb seeds. We figured only a few would live, so we ought to just plant as many as we could. Jeromey and I both have attempted gardens in the past with epic failure as the result.

FEBRUARY 1, 2023

In the midst of an ice storm, two tiny garden witches attempted a garden spell for snow. It did not work. Two days later, we planted the first of our plants. Maybe it was a garden spell! 🧙🏻‍♀️🧙🏻‍♀️

FEBRUARY 3, 2023

We planted non-descript cherry tomato and Parisian carrot seeds. Mouse tried to eat them and Samantha tried to get pets from them. We were convinced we would kill them all. We killed many. Many did not germinate. But three cherry tomatoes survived (and maybe 2 Parisian carrots snuck into the rosemary soil, tbd). This was the beginning of our Dangercat family garden adventure.
